Clear Contradictions in Tax Treatment

1. Low Tax Limitation
The tax authorities refuse to grant me the 'low tax limitation' benefit because I pay NOK 6,500 in rent.
They argue that this amount is too low to qualify me for the benefit.

2. Tax Return Liability
At the same time, the tax authorities force me to pay back approximately NOK 30,000 in taxes.
They claim that the NOK 6,500 I pay as rent is not recognized as housing rent but is instead categorized as regular expenses, like food.

Sometimes the tax authorities recognize the NOK 6,500 as rent I pay, while other times they categorize it as a regular expense, like food, depending on how it benefits their interests.
This inconsistent interpretation of the same amount—NOK 6,500—seems designed to unfairly serve the tax authorities’ agenda, doesn’t it?

It’s baffling that renting out property is considered taxable income, but renting a place to live is not acknowledged as a genuine living expense.
If this approach becomes the standard, it would discourage people from renting out properties and, in turn, make it harder for others to find housing.

In my case, the NOK 6,500 rent I pay is more than half of the NOK 11,000 income I receive from renting out my apartment.
This doesn’t make sense. It feels like the system is exploiting my limited understanding of tax regulations to its advantage.
It’s especially disheartening since I’m among the lowest-income earners in Norway, living on Uføretrygd (disability pension).

Norwegian Law Inconsistencies
It’s typical in Norway for laws to be applied either in favor of or against individuals, depending on who enforces them.
However, where in Norwegian law does it state that if someone rents out their property, their living rent will be categorized as a regular expense (like food) instead of being acknowledged against rental income?

Concerns about Discrimination
It concerns me deeply that the Norwegian caseworker may be handling my case with bias, potentially influenced by racism.
It seems as though she is making every effort to withhold financial support from me as not native Norwegian, regardless of the legitimacy and validity of my situation.

This goes against the Norwegian morals and principles that are renowned for their justice and generosity around the world.
